Food/Clothing Assistance Program

The COFU Food/Clothing assistance program (FCAP) is a tool to help those in need. The goal is to identify those who desire self-sufficiency. As a coalition of Christian faith organizations in the north area, COFU provides different ways to gain assistance through the FCAP program. This effort of COFU is dependent upon monetary and product donations to provide the help needed.

The FCAP gives assistance to those in need who have been referred by an organization or partner. The goal is to help as many as possible to achieve self-sufficiency. We encourage all who receive assistance to become involved in our LIFE+ Adult Mentoring Program.

COFU represents the organization that generated the referral. A connection between the referring organization and the referred individual is encouraged throughout the time the individual is receiving assistance. This relationship, in addition to our mentoring program, is an important part of creating the trust necessary to give the individual hope for the future.

COFU handles food from USDA food distribution. CSFP(Commodities Supplemental Food Program) for seniors over 60 who qualify, is held the third Wednesday of every month.

It is important to note that this is the first phase in the assistance program. Future plans include, rental and utility assistance, gas vouchers and bus passes. Vocational training for the disabled and veteran communities is on the horizon, as well as meals for the homeless members of our community. These programs are dependent upon identifying the financial resources necessary.

In order to qualify for FCAP:

COFU services are by referral only. Proof of Adams County residency or Broomfield County residency is required. This can be a drivers license or photo I.D. and utility bill. However, those in need will not be turned away.

The Food Pantry/Clothing Bank is open Monday-Thursday 11:00am-4:00pm. Our services may be used every 30 days by clients involved in Self-Sufficiency activities such as job searches, educational advancement or ESL. All others will be eligible for emergency assistance every 6 months. Life+ learning partners will be able to receive additional food/clothing on a temporary basis.
