"United as One for the Community"

Vision:
to serve people with the goal of self-reliance.

For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
Matthew 25:35 - 36 (NIV)

Our Organization

is an organization that originated from a coalition of Christian Faith based Organizations and local governments in the north metro Denver cities of Thornton, Northglenn, Federal Heights, Westminster and Broomfield as well as areas of unincorporated Adams County.

The purpose of COFU is to be an independent organization under the guidance of the Christian faith community, separate from the doctrinal and evangelistic agendas of individual ministries, and focused on programs that are for the betterment of the community at large.

Our Mission

As the people of God, our mission is to be a visible expression of unity by creating partnerships of the Christian faith community, business and government, working together for the betterment of the community

The Mission Statement of Community of Faith United (COFU) is a bold declaration of our goal. The 20+ organizations that currently partner together form COFU. We are under the direction of a Board of Directors, and have a standing Ambassador Council, the members of which all have a voice in the direction of our organization. All organizations we partner with, on many different levels, are welcome to become part of our Ambassador Council.

Benefits of COFU

The purpose of Community of Faith United is to be an independent organization under the guidance of the Christian faith community, separate from the doctrinal and evangelical agendas of individual ministries, and focused on programs that are for the betterment of the community at large. We provide a link to church and community resources.

COFU serves people with the goal of self-reliance in four different ways.

    (1) Case management/mentoring to improve job seeking and life skills.

    (2) Professional development including:

(a) Computer skills including Microsoft office suite certification, training on internet job searching, composing email, internet browsing and using Microsoft Word to create resumes.

(b) Interview skills for job interview training including basic presentation and communication skills, clothing supplemented by our clothing bank and personal grooming.

    (3) Literacy training, GED preparation, Math, Writing and Reading.

    (4) General health status including referrals for physicals, dental and mental health wellness care. Through classes and mentoring clients learn the importance of healthy eating, food preparation and exercise for a well balanced life style.
